5 Tips to Keep Your Home Safe and Clean

Keep Your Home Safe and Clean

Your home should be a place where you feel safe and comfortable. Aside from the roof and the corners protecting your family and you, enhancing some parts of your house will definitely give you profound tranquility, especially if all of you are away.

Here are 5 tips to keep your home safe and clean.

1. Change the Locks
Are you a new homeowner? First things first update your locks and keycodes.

This will ensure that only your family will have access to your new home. You can opt for an extra deadbolt or deadlock aside from the doorknob lock alone. A deadbolt lock cannot be moved to the open position except by rotating it with the right key.

2. Install a Home Security System

Consider a doorbell camera or smart lock.

It is necessary to have a camera outside your house nowadays for security reasons. Whereas a smart lock can be an option, especially if you’re the kind of person who prefers convenience while maximizing the use of technology, only if you are willing to shell out some extra cash.

3. Think of Fire Prevention
Install fire extinguishers; test smoke alarms; and regularly inspect water heaters, and dryer vents.

Although it’s unlikely a fire to happen if you’re living in a subdivision, it’s still better to have preventive measures.

4. Be a Good Neighbor
Going on vacation? Inform your neighbors and return the favor.

It’s a golden rule to live peacefully together with the people in your community. What you want your neighbors do unto you, do unto them.

5. Clean Your Home Regularly
Cleanliness is next to orderliness and to Godliness.

Be sure to observe your community garbage disposal schedule and properly segregate your trash.

Clean surroundings contribute to healthy living. Wiping your furniture and appliances regularly will get rid of dusts which can cause nasal allergies and respiratory problems.

Making your home safe and clean should be amongst your priorities and considerations in purchasing a house. Don’t forget to add it to your checklists. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget about these simple steps, but it’s a crucial part of home development.
